A big thank you to Anne Flynn, Area Manager, Carers Association, South Dublin and to her team of Family Care Support Officers for their warm welcome and enthusiastic engagement in the Training Day conducted by Therese Maguire on Wednesday 19 June 2013.
During the morning session, the group explored the Psychology of Care Giving including the impact of long term care giving on both family carers and professional carers. The afternoon session focused specifically on the development and facilitation of carer support groups including the core skills necessary for support group facilitation.
The best and most effective training days are those where the engagement of the participants is high energy and this was one of those very interactive, inspirational sessions where Anne and her Family Care Support Officers demonstrated their true commitment to family carers and those they care for in the South Dublin region.
