Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland, February 13th, 2016
A fascinating and thought provoking event for parents of children with Spina Bifida/Hydrocephalus was facilitated by Therese Maguire on Saturday 13th February at the SBHI National Resource Centre in Dublin. The Psychotherapy Clinic extend their gratitude to Ciara Miley of SBHI for the invitation to meet with parents and representatives of the Association to hear about the challenges experienced by parents and children living with SB/H and to learn about the types of supports and services that they require.
It is apparent that there is a lack of clarity in the SB/H care pathway within the medical profession in Ireland and this is what parents cited as their biggest frustration in living with the condition.
