Children & Adolescents
At The Psychotherapy Clinic, child & adolescent therapy uses a number of different types of interventions to work with under 18’s in order to provide them with the space to understand the issue that has brought them to seeking help. This can involve speaking, but more regularly will involve play therapy and/or art therapy. This safe space allows the child/teen to work through, process and understand the root cause of their issue. Work is conducted on a one to one basis between the child/teen and the psychotherapist and there is full confidentiality offered. Parents/Guardians will meet with the therapist at the outset of the treatment and will have regular meetings throughout the therapy but the therapist is always mindful of the confidentiality offered to the child/teen. The relationship that the child/teen has with the therapist is an important one and requires time and trust to build. The length of therapy depends on the complexity and severity of the problems presenting.
